It started when I was an extremely introverted child who got tummy aches at the thought of speaking in front of people...but writing was my outlet.
I helped friends with their school papers (the statute of limitations has passed, right?)...and even my mom (an evangelist) with some of her sermons.
Fast forward to my corporate career, I was laid off when I was five months pregnant from my "good job with benefits". Yes, it delivered a blow to my ego but it was the such a blessing...why? Because although it was the most toxic work environment I'd ever experienced, being laid off forced me to have a heart-to-heart with God about my natural talents and abilities.
And for this experience...I'm grateful. I should probably send the person who let me go a THANK YOU NOTE!
